Elmer Wiens, the webmaster, was born in Chilliwack, BC and grew up in Yarrow. While attending the MB Church, he participated in youth programs at Yarrow's Alliance and GC Churches. At UBC he studied mathematics, computer science, and economics. Elmer lectured at universities in Canada and the USA, and worked as an economist for governments. Later in life, he revisited his interest in English literature and grammar. He is also the webmaster for t he Yarrow's Pioneers and Settlers website. Elmer was a member of the board of directors of the Mennonite Historical Society of BC from 2011 to 2023.
